Research Interests
The “Invictus Research” group is formed by researchers from the Universitat de Barcelona, the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, and the Universidad de Zaragoza. The group also keeps collaborations with researchers of other national and international Universities.
Our principal research lines comprise the phenomenon of psychological abuse and violence in different domains, such as the workplace (workplace bullying or mobbing), the psychology of terrorism (violence of persecution), within abusive groups or cults, in couple relationships, etc.
We conceptualize the phenomenon of psychological abuse and violence as sharing a corpus or common base on each domain where it is manifested. That corpus consists in a continuous application of abusive strategies (i.e., harassment, coercive behaviors, etc.) with the main purpose of gaining domination over an individual or group, either to achieve their subjugation or exclusion.
