Research Interests

His research activity is focused on two areas. Firstly, he has studied generative activities in older age, including the role of grandparenthood in older people’s lives, and the determinants and impact of older people involvement in volunteering tasks or as political activists. Secondly, he has studies long-term residential settings policies and practices, particularly those addressed to guarantee residents’ rights and opportunities for participating. In this respect, attitudes towards different kinds of sexual expression in nursing homes have been one of his main topics of research.
