Research Interests

The bipolar disorder program has been recognized as a consolidated research group (2014 SGR 398) by the Agència de Gestió d’AjutsUniversitarisi de Recerca, AGAUR. The program, characterizad by a multidisciplinary approach, investigates the neurobiological and anatomofunctional mechanisms involved in the development and clinical course of the disease, comorbidity, neurocognitive mechanisms, and the search for new pharmacologic, biophysical and psychosocial treatments, within the paradigm of personalized medicine as applied to mental health. This research group is very active in translational research, innovation, and works in close collaboration with other IDIBAPS, CIBERSAM, and international research groups and networks.

  • Endophenotypes, genetics and biomarkers of affective disorders.
  • Neurocognition and neuroimaging of bipolar and unipolar disorders.
  • First affective and psychotic episodes.
  • Clinical trials and innovation in psychopharmacology of bipolar and depressive disorders.
